Website Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 09/20/2026 • Last Updated: 09/20/2026
This Privacy Policy describes how River and Sea Psychiatric and Mental Health Services, PLLC ("Provider," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information through riverandseapsychiatry.com (the "Site"). This Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to protected health information ("PHI") created or received in the course of an established provider-client relationship, which is instead governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, available here or upon request.

1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide:
-
Contact and appointment request forms: name, email address, phone number, and any message or information you choose to include.
-
Newsletter or mailing list sign-ups, if offered.
-
Information you submit through a client portal, if the Site links to one operated by a third-party vendor (governed by that vendor's own terms and our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices once a clinical relationship begins).
Â
Information Collected Automatically:
-
Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages viewed, collected through server logs and similar technologies.
-
Cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 2.
Â
Information From Other Sources:
-
Information from third-party platforms you use to interact with us, such as social media pages, subject to that platform's own privacy practices.
Â
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies for functionality, analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and, if enabled, advertising purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some Site functionality.

We do not use advertising or analytics pixels (such as a Meta Pixel or similar tool) on pages of the Site that describe specific health conditions or services.Â

3. How We Use Information
-
To respond to inquiries and appointment requests submitted through the Site.
-
To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
-
To comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and property of Provider, Site visitors, and others.
Â
We do not sell personal information collected through the Site, and we do not use Site data to make decisions about your eligibility for treatment beyond the ordinary intake and scheduling process.

4. How We Share Information
-
Service providers who help operate the Site, such as web hosting, scheduling, email, and analytics vendors, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
-
As required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of any person.
-
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of practice assets, subject to applicable confidentiality obligations.
Â
We do not share Site visitor information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.

5. Relationship to HIPAA and Clinical Records
Once you become a client of River and Sea Psychiatry and Mental Health Services, PLLC, the clinical information we create and maintain about your care (your "treatment record") is protected health information governed by HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this Policy. Information submitted through a general Site contact or appointment request form, before a clinical relationship is established, may not yet qualify as PHI and may instead be governed by this Policy and by applicable state consumer health data laws described in Section 6.

6. Washington My Health My Data Act
Washington's My Health My Data Act (chapter 19.373 RCW) protects certain "consumer health data" that falls outside HIPAA, including some information collected through websites (such as inferences about a visitor's health interests drawn from pages visited or forms submitted, before a clinical relationship begins). The Act requires covered businesses to maintain a stand-alone Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, obtain consent for collection and separately for sharing of consumer health data, honor consumer rights to access, delete, and withdraw consent, and refrain from geofencing around locations that provide in-person health care services.

We maintain a separate document, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, which is prominently linked from the Site's homepage and addresses these requirements in full, including the categories of consumer health data we collect and share, the categories of third parties and any specific affiliates involved, and how to exercise your rights under that Act. That policy is intentionally a distinct document from this general Privacy Policy, consistent with MHMDA's requirement that it not be combined with other notices or contain unrelated marketing content. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy here.

7. Other State Privacy Laws
Depending on where you are located and applicable thresholds, you may have additional rights under other state privacy laws, including rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise any available rights, contact us using the information in Section 13.

8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site in a manner inconsistent with applicable law. Appointment requests or intake for minor clients are handled through our clinical intake process, not through general Site data collection, and are subject to the consent requirements described in our client intake and consent forms.

9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information collected through the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention
We retain information collected through the Site for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by applicable law, and delete or de-identify it thereafter, subject to applicable record-retention obligations for clinical and business records.

11. Your Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you, as described in this Policy and, where applicable, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Â
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites or services, such as a scheduling portal or payment processor, that are not operated by us. This Policy does not apply to those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Policy
